Life story

" Winston Roderick Agard, a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and member of the Agard and Pickering families, passed away on September 9, 2026 at the age of 82.

Born on September 9, 1944 in Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana), South America, Winston was the son of Gladys and Walter Agard and one of eight children.

He was the father of five children, Dale Agard (Feltiya), Roderick Agard (Malissa), Mark Agard (Taronza), Tricia Jackson (Terrance), and Liselle Walker (Christopher), whom preceded him in death. He was the grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Winston was also preceded in death by one of his granddaughters, Raziah Barnes and several siblings, including Patricia Noemi Agard (Huggins), Hyacinth Agata Agard (Dundas), Ernetta Felicia “Pinky” Hughes, Joseph Hilbert “Joey” Agard, and Godfrey Agard.

He is survived by his wife Joan, four children and two siblings, including Rupert Earlington Agard of Palm Coast, Florida, and Doris Shirley Yvonne Agard of Subryanville, Guyana, as well as extended family and loved ones.

Winston’s laughter and dad jokes will definitely be missed. Winston will be remembered for the life he shared with his family and for the lasting legacy he leaves across generations.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Winston’s caregivers, especially Krystal Stewart, as well as his medical doctors in the community and at Inova Hospital. We are also deeply grateful to the entire DaVita Dialysis team for their compassionate care and support.

We are also deeply grateful to all the staff at Berea Health and Rehab for their kindness, compassion, and dedication. Special thanks are extended to one of Winston’s best transportation drivers, Kofi, who became much more than a driver—he became family.

We thank God for the 82 years that he gave Winston to share with his family and the world. May God bless his soul and grant him eternal rest. "
