Life story
"After a career with the US government, Patti devoted her time to raising her children before returning to work as a proofreader for Mary Washington College.
Patti enjoyed her role as the "Commissioner" of MacGregor Roller and Wheelchair Hockey, running the show from behind the scenes, and helping the kids.
After the loss of her first child, Patti helped start the first Fredericksburg chapter of Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support through Mary Washington Hospital.
She loved music, helping others, bird watching, crafts, traveling, and most of all, being a loving wife and mother.
Patti and her husband Charlie attended at least 35 Bruce Springsteen concerts together in their 49 years of marriage. They always enjoyed giving their children "history lessons" via music in their kitchen.
Survived by husband, 3 children, 2 grandchildren, father, stepmother, sister, brother, numerous nieces nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by son and mother.
Private service details for family and friends will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. "
Services will be announced at a later date.

"Heaven has gained a true angel. Patti was more than a dear friend, she was a beautiful role model of a good christian woman, wife, mother and friend. I could ask myself, "what would Patti do?" and it would always be the right thing. Patti was always a prayer warrior and cheerleader for our family and we are forever blessed by her love and support. Our hearts and prayers are with all of you. We love you, Kenny and Charlene”

"Patti and I enjoyed many good times together thru our Sisters In Stiches group. When I think of her, I think of the kindness, generosity and sense of community she exemplified. I know she is shining bright in her heavenly home, sharing her sweet soul with all. God's love and peace to you, Patti, and to all the MacGregors. Alison Bareford”

"In another timeline you and I are chatting with our toes in the sand while your grandbabies play in the ocean. Time is a thief, and I wish I could hold your hand one more time or give you one more hug - you gave the best hugs. Although you aren’t earthside with us anymore, your kindness to others and twinkle in your eye will live on through everyone who had the fortune of knowing you. Mom, you always were the perfect fan.”

"You were the best mom any of us could've asked for, and I will miss you so much. You have touched so many lives, and brought so much happiness to the world. I will always remember your loving smile, warm hugs, texts from "Maw-Maw", and special hand-made signs on the front door whenever we came home from school or a trip. I wish I could give you one more hug, or talk to you one more time. Things won't be the same without you, but I will always remember to live in the moment and share love and happiness like you did. We will always carry you in our hearts until we see you again. Love you always, "Iron Man Sam"”
