Life story

" In Loving Memory of Judith Ann McGlothlin
February 8, 1947 – October 3, 2026

Judith (Judy) Ann Lewis McGlothlin , age 79, passed away peacefully in her home on October 3, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Born on February 8, 1947, in Washington, D.C., Judy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She taught her family to love unconditionally, give generously, and show compassion without expecting anything in return. Her love left an impression on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her two sisters Joyce Brewer, Ruthie Whetzel, and brother Tommy Lewis Sr. Her daughters, Angela Lynn Wandursky-McGlothlin of Spotsylvania VA, Heather Dawn LeFrancois of Warrenton Virginia and son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” LeFrancois of Warrenton VA. And her only cherished grandson, Raymond Michael Wandursky (Mikie), whom she loved so much.

Judy loved gardening and could spend hours pulling weeds until she had removed every root. Each spring and summer, she planted flowers with her daughter Heather in their flower beds. She was also an avid reader, especially of James Patterson and Danielle Steel. During the fall and winter, she created floral Christmas arrangements and wreaths to sell to family and friends. Judy also loved collecting rocks. Wherever she went, even to places like Olive Garden, she looked for rocks to bring home for her garden, which always made us laugh. We often found stray rocks on the floorboard or in the glove compartment of her car. The beach was another favorite, and Ocean City, Maryland, was her preferred vacation destination. Over the years, the family made many wonderful memories at The Pyramid there.
Judy also adored her dog, Teddy, affectionately known as Teddy Monster, who was by her side for fourteen years. When she could still drive, she took him on car rides and treated him to an ice cream cone from McDonald’s. Judy treasured time with family, friends, and the young women she lovingly called her adopted daughters. They had been part of her life for most of theirs and spent many summers at her home.

Judy and her daughter Heather shared an extraordinary bond throughout their 49 years together. More than mother and daughter, they were best friends. For over three decades, Heather lovingly cared for Judy through numerous health challenges and illnesses, guided by the unconditional love they shared.

Judy’s passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in her family’s hearts. Yet her memory lives through the lessons she taught, the moments they shared, and the love that will always connect them. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Always in our hearts.
