" Edythe Isabelle Swick
September 23, 1937 – October 7, 2026

Edythe “Isabelle” Swick of Warrenton, VA passed away surrounded by family on October 7, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born on September 23, 1937 in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada, daughter to late Murray Chappell and Catherine Chappell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lenore Paddon (Bob).

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bill Swick; two children, Christopher Swick (Natalie) and Julie Trussell (Jack); three grandchildren, Jessie Hare (Chris), Sean Swick, and Billie Trussell; and sister Helen Stephens (late Allan).

After graduating from Teachers College, Isabelle began her career as a teacher, until she joined the National Wildlife Federation, where she retired. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of so many with her love, kindness, and generous spirit.

She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, reading, playing cards, and tending to her beautiful flowers. Yet, above all else, her greatest joy in life and most cherished accomplishment was her family, as they were the center of her world and greatest treasure. She loved them deeply and unconditionally, cherishing every moment spent together. She will be deeply missed, but the memories she created, the love she shared, and the lasting impact she made on her family and friends will be cherished forever.
