"Derrick Ryan Jackson, a cherished son and friend. He left this world unexpectedly on Friday, May 3, 2024. He was 23 years old.
Born on February 14, 2001, in Clearwater, Florida , Derrick brought warmth and joy into the life of his grandparents, Larry N.Jackson and Rebecca K. (Broam) Davis. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Derrick's journey through life was marked by a deep love for his family. He was an adventurous spirit that touched everyone he encountered. After attending Clearwater High School and earning his diploma in 2019 Derrick found solace and joy in his many interests and hobbies. He was a familiar face at Grace Church in Tampa, where he found strength and community in his faith. Derrick was a skilled musician with a love for all things music , spending countless hours tinkering with songs and soundboards. His passion for music was matched only by his love for the open road, where he felt most alive and free. He also cherished quiet moments spent fishing, finding peace and serenity in the stillness.
Those who knew Derrick best remember him for his infectious laughter, his boundless generosity, and his unwavering loyalty. He had a knack for bringing light into any room, his big laugh echoing long after he was gone. Whether day or night, Derrick could always be counted on for a helping hand or a listening ear, his large cup of Dr. Pepper in hand as he tackled life's challenges with a smile.
Above all else, Derrick's love knew no bounds, extending to his grandparents parents, Larry Jackson and Debra Gurley. For those who knew him, Derrick's memory will forever be cherished. Though he may be gone, his spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and memories he leaves behind."
