"Alonzo Butler, beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on August 26, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois.
Alonzo resided in Chicago for his entire life, being deeply rooted in the community he cherished.
Alonzo's genuine kindness and
compassionate spirit touched the lives of many. He was a person of simple pleasures and found solace in the beauty of nature, especially during his fishing trips. Alonzo cherished spending quality time with his family, creating unforgettable memories that will forever be treasured. Alonzo was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Bobby Smith. Alonzo's legacy continues through his treasured grandchildren, Bobby Smith, Tony butler, and Britney smith.
His loving parents, Willam Walter and Brenda butler, nurtured and supported him throughout his life. Alonzo received his education at Corliss H.S. in Chicago, Illinois, where he built lasting friendships and memories. His upbringing in Chicago shaped his character, revealing his unwavering loyalty and strong sense of community.
While Alonzo did not serve in the military, he held great respect for those who did. His love for his country was unwavering.
Alonzo's spirituality provided him with strength and comfort during challenging times.
Alonzo's life will be celebrated at a service held by the Chicago Care Center, located at 4727 W 103rd St, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, USA.
