Life story
"Benjamin A. Franklin was born November 1, 1948, in San Diego, California, to Homer and Minnie Franklin. He was the sixth of 11 children. Ben laid down his Earthly obligations to rest until he stood before his Heavenly Father. He is a Heavens gain, and his family and friends deepest loss. Ben was taught the Word of God by his parents and was baptized at which time he took it to heart to live a dedicated Christian life.
Ben received his education with the San Diego Unified School District, where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968. Ben continued his education and earned his Associates of Arts degree from San Diego City Community College in the field of Auto Mechanics. Ben was drafted from college into the Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country at Yuma Proofing Grounds and was Honorably Discharged.
Ben worked many jobs before working in his trade of auto mechanics for the City of San Diego Police Department Automotive Department, and he retired after giving them 28 years. After Ben's retirement, he spent even more time doing the Lord's work. Ben loved teaching God's word, preaching, singing, and visiting the sick and the Jail Ministry Program. Throughout his illness, Ben continued to serve the Lord without no concern for himself.
Ben was preceded in death by both of his parents, Homer and Minnie Franklin, two older brothers, Timothy Franklin and Alonzo McNally, and a Sister Dorothy Bailey. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Evette Susanne Franklin, siblings, Mary Caldwell, Homer R.
