Life story
" John Edward Curry Sr. passed away Easter Sunday, March 31st. He was born October 9, 1952, to the late Mabel Ann Tippet Curry and James Gregory Curry Sr. ‘Buck’ in Leonardtown, Maryland. Many that loved him simply know him by his nickname, Moochie. Though the origins of this nickname varied from time to time.
He is survived by his wife Norma Lee Guy Curry, his children John Jr. ‘Johnny’ (Dennette) of Leonardtown, MD, Teresa ‘Tes’ (John) Gleisner of Orange Park, FL, and Rebecca ‘Becky (Troy) of Hollywood, MD and his grandchildren Jason, Megan, Sherry, Joseph ‘Auzzie’, Brittany, Brooke, Ethan and Wyatt, his beloved dog Smokey and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Moochie grew up in Compton Maryland with his four brothers and honorary brother which preceded him in death Thomas ‘Tommy’ St. Clair, James Raymond, James Gregory Jr., and Joseph Leonard Curry and his lifelong friend and honorary brother Emmitt Glaze. He lived most of his life in St. Mary’s County, MD where he like to ‘stir up trouble’ with his family and friends in good fun. Moochie enjoyed spending his free time when not doing drywall hunting, fishing, playing guitar, hanging with friends, working on the water and restoring old cars.
Please join us at the memorial service of his life in his beloved St. Mary’s County Maryland Friday, May 31st at 11 AM in Hollywood, Maryland.
A prayer service will be planned in King George VA end of April.
Donations may be made to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation or your local hospice center. "
