Life story

" It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Daniel Anthony Draddy on 3/15/24 at 11:35pm. He has lost his year long battle with Colon Cancer and died comfortably surrounded by his close family at his side. May he finally find peace.

He was a beloved husband to Karen Draddy for 30 years where he raised his children Kasey Lynne Hatch, Jacob Daniel Draddy and Nicholas Paul Draddy in Stafford, Va. He was an avid boater and you could find him on weekends in Reedville, Va. exploring the Chesapeake Bay and it's waterways, enjoying the company of friends and family at the beach or the marina.

Dan is preceded in death by his Father John Mangin Draddy, and his Mother Barbara Stroop Draddy.
He is survived by his two sisters Mary Draddy Busch and Martha Draddy Bateman and brother Michael Stroop Draddy and several nieces and nephews.

The son of a Navy Submarine Captian, Dan grew up as a Navy kid. He lived in many exotic places such as including Great Lakes, Illinois, Cornado, California, Oahu, Hawaii, Key West Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana before finally settling in Vienna, Va, where he graduated from Madison HS class of 1981.

He was a Master Low Voltage Electric Technician by trade and worked for the Media General Cable Company, before entering the Electricians Union. He traveled for many years across the country being a lead technician running crews before opening his own business with his wife working in stores, offices, restaurants, air ports and warehouses installing computer network systems, data, internet, phone and digital media and security systems in the DC Metro area. He was known to fix what other's could not and was a true specialist in his field. He was an honest hard worker and always took great pride in his work. It came easy to him. He was wicked smart and could take anything apart and rebuild it better.

Dan cared most about providing for his family and making use of his free time with household improvements, working on cars and or boats, gardening, cooking great meals and fixing all things broken, He was naturally gifted and a jack of all trades. A truly handy man who will be missed by all and remembered always. RIP Captain Dan.
