Life story

" Jimmie Delano Mack, Sr. was born in Greenville, SC, on February 7, 1947, to the late Flossie and John Mack of Edgewood, MD. He departed this life in Fredericksburg, VA on March 4, 2024, surrounded by family.

Jim received his formal education in the Harford County Public School System. He graduated from Central Consolidated in 1964. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1967, and spent one year in Vietnam as a medic before being honorably discharged in 1968. Jim retired from the federal government after spending over 20 years as a material handler and forklift driver.

Jim was a lifelong Chargers fan. He enjoyed listening to all types of music (especially Al Green) and spending his days in his recliner watching westerns, Perry Mason, and true crime shows. Towards the end of his life, he would spend his time with his grandpets Riley, Rilo, Max, Alvin, and Kat (his nap partner and favorite cat). Jim’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by: his parents, Flossie Mack and John Mack; his sister, Patricia Mack; and his brothers, Veryl Mack and Curtis Mack.

He leaves to mourn: his daughter and caregiver, Sharonne Seitz; son-in-law, Matthew Seitz, who was also his caregiver and best friend; four sons, Jimmie Mack, Jr., Steven Mack, Timothy Mack, and Phillip Mack; six grandchildren, Timothy Mack, Jr., Sanaa Edwards and husband Alberto Ortiz, Phillip Mack, Kai Mack, Navayah Williams-Mack, and Jenna Mack; three great-grandchildren, Ellaida OrtizAvila-Edwards, Ezekiel OrtizAvila-Edwards, and Vivian Michelle Mack; three brothers, John Mack, Sr., Rickey Mack, and David Mack; three sisters, Felicia Mack, Linda Mack, and Gwendolyn Maldonado; devoted friend and mother of three of his children, Mary Stovall; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks any memorial donations or contributions be made to The American Heart Association. "
