"Carlton Jenkins was a Super Dad!!! He loved everyone he continued his career as an industrial engineer in the late 60’s working on railroads in the Memphis Tennessee Shelby county area he then went on to pursue his career in accounting in the early 70’s he loved what he did he always spoke about owning his own business and he did just that. Two things happened when Carlton Jenkins first arrived on the campus of Mississippi Valley State University in 1987. One was immediate, the first day. He met a woman named Lisa.

“The first day I hit campus,” Jenkins says, “I told her I was going to marry her.”

Not long after, Jenkins — who came to Mississippi Valley to study prelaw and throw touchdown passes for the football team — attended a lecture by a professor named Dr. Anthony Arrington."
