Life story

" Peggy Yvonne Sizemore passed away on 27 February 2024, at the age of 82. She was the ninth of 10 children born to Charles and Annie Brooks, in Pierpont, Wyoming County, West Virginia. Peggy was a gregarious woman who loved learning, interacting with others, reading the Bible and attending church with her family. She graduated with honors from Mullens High School in 1959. Her first husband was William (Buddy) Sizemore. They had three children together. Her oldest child, remembers how Peggy would sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star for her at bedtime and how they were taught to spell their names and count numbers, etc., before they entered first grade. She blended her attitude and humor with her unique style that made her an endearing mother and charming person. Peggy worked for several large organizations, including Johns Hopkins Hospital, Allied Metal, Lockheed Martin and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). She started in administration but eventually worked in peripheral areas of engineering, e.g., configuration management and quality assurance. She received many letters of commendation, awards and certificates for her contributions. She was proud of her work on the U.S. Air Force B-1 bombers and the U.S. Navy's MK41 Vertical Launch System. She retired in 2006. She lived the rest of her life in Fredericksburg, Virginia with her second husband, David Hinson Parrish, who she met at Lockheed Martin and married in 1994. They were married just shy of 30 wonderful years. She welcomed her first and only grandchild in 2017. Besides her husband, David, her grandson, was the love of her life. She spent the last few months of her life in home Hospice. She passed away in her home from stomach cancer. She was survived by her husband, two sisters, three children, several nieces and nephews and one grandson, Spencer. "
