Life story

"Eugene Reynolds, a devoted husband, father, and minister, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio.

Eugene found great joy in his favorite hobbies, which included golfing, spending quality time with his family, and completing challenging crossword puzzles. However, his true passion was sharing the word of God. As an ordained minister, he dedicated many years of his life to serving as a pastor with the Church of God. Despite his own health challenges that prevented him from attending church in his later years, Eugene remained deeply involved and continued to spread his faith.

In his leisure time, Eugene loved watching Westerns on television and could often be found quoting lines from his favorite shows. He lived by the motto, "Today is a new day, don't waste it!" and took pride in introducing others to his faith, offering support and comfort during their darkest moments.

Eugene was married to his beloved wife, Juanita Reynolds, for 56 years until her passing several years ago. Together, they raised their child, Karen Reynolds. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Kristi Davis, and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Davis.

Known for his caring and compassionate nature, Eugene impacted the lives of many through his selfless acts of kindness and unwavering support. He was always available day or night for his family and church members, extending a helping hand to those in need. Eugene also served his community through various organizations and charitable endeavors, including volunteering in soup kitchens and participating in numerous fundraisers.

For many years, Eugene served as the Senior pastor at Golden Isles Church of God, guiding and inspiring his congregation with his deep faith and genuine love for others.

In accordance with Eugene's wishes, a private ceremony will be held at his family home. In lieu of flowers or donations, he would want you to contribute to your own church or a cause that is close to your heart. The family wants to extend their thanks to the Serenity Funeral Home for the professionalism showed with the cremation and beautiful urn selection.
