Life story

"Vernon Maxwell Jones was a loving father and the greatest husband to Ms Betty. He had a passion for layman preaching and loved to share the word of God whenever he got the chance. He also loved to sing with the chorus when he could.

A memorial service for Mr. Vernon Maxwell Jones, age 86, will be held at 4 pm Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Battlefield Apostolic Church in Jackson, TN with Bro. J.J. Jones officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 2 – 4 pm before the service.
Mr. Jones passed away at his home in Millington, TN on January 31, 2024. He was born on July 30, 1937, in Jackson, TN to the late Howard William Jones and Louise Carnell Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Betty Jones; brother, Johnny Jones; sisters, Debbie Jones Richardson, Melba Jones Sorrell. Mr Jones was preceded in death by his grandson Samuel Carlton Archibald in 1987. His surviving daughters Lesha Estelle Archibald of Olive Branch MS, Tonya Louise Pruett of Olive Branch, MS and his son Richard Maxwell Jones of Jackson,TN. He also has 4 surviving grandchildren and 3 great grand children from his daughter Lesha.
