Life story

" Marcella Ann (Featherall) McIntyre passed away at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital on January 24, 2024, after a prolonged illness and hospital stay. Marcie was born April 16, 1951, in Washington D.C. to Eugene and Ruby Featherall. Marcie grew up in the Springfield, Virginia area with her parents, eight sisters and a brother. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1969 and began work for Giant Food for over 30 years where she advanced to bakery manager. Marcie’s pride and joy, Keith Featherall, was born July 14, 1969. Marcie married the love of her life, Jim McIntyre, on July 21, 1987. In 1989, they moved from Northern Virginia to their forever home in Spotsylvania, Virginia. In their forever home they met Jami and Sonia Harper who became their adopted family. Marcie will be remembered for her love of her immediate and large extended families. This love is evidenced by the hundreds of photographs that adorn the walls of her home. She also endeared herself to many of her surrounding neighbors by hosting many neighborhood gatherings, earning the nickname of Ma to some.



Marcie is survived by three children Keith (Bonnie) Featherall, Robin (David) Megel, and Terri McDonnell; five grandchildren Amy Skillin-Navarro, Jeremy Blevins, Keith Featherall-Parr, Ana Megel, and Joseph Megel; eight great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; six sisters Ellie Beard, Toni Bennett, Frannie Parr, Mary Todd, Sue Puskinskas, Janet Woolfrey; and her brother Gene Featherall, Jr.



Marcie was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Ruby Featherall, her husband Jim McIntyre, and two sisters, Barbara Hanlin and Kaye Featherall.



The family will be holding a celebration of Marcie’s life on February 3 at 11 am. Please contact a family member for details.
