Life story

" Dan" Daniel Brady 83 was called home to God on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, surrounded by his family at home in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Dan was a loving husband, father, grand father, great grand father, and great-great grand father. Dan’s family was his passion and his strength.

A true gentleman, with an infectious smile, Dan never met a stranger. He was always ready to help anyone in need. If the size of a man’s heart was visible from the outside Dan would have been a giant among men.

Dan will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years Joyce (nee Brice). Father to Christina (Robert) Filler, Michele Brady, and Stephanie Brady, grandfather to Robert (Jessica) Filler, Amber (Justin) Guysick, Andrew Brady, Sean Brady and Sara Brady and great grandfather/great-great grandfather to 14.

He was the youngest of 9 children, born on February 7, 1940 in Whitehouse, Pennsylvania to the late Carl Ray and Mary Brady. He is survived by his family listed above, his sister June Kingan (nee Brady), his twin brother Donald Brady, and 77 Nieces and Nephews.

He retired after 25 years from General Electric, valiantly fought Multiple Sclerosis for over 49 years, and was delivered into the loving arms of his Savior just 4 weeks after being diagnosed with liver Cancer.

As heaven rejoices it’s newest angel, we, Dan’s family take comfort in the fact we will see him again standing strong, without pain, where there is no sorrow. Until that day he will be forever in our minds and hearts and thoughts of him will comfort us. His words of advice will guide us, “Of course we want dessert first, especially if there is pie”. The life lessons he shared will be forever with us.
