Life story

"Owen Phillips, 71, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in Stafford, VA after a long battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Clive and Muriel Phillips, brothers Ronald and Thelbert White, all of Barbados, West Indies in the Caribbean.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bermadine Phillips of Stafford, VA, brother, Patterson Phillips, nephew Valdez Clarke, and cousin Avonda Hinks all of Barbados along with many cousins, a son Johaan Phillips of Alexandria, daughter J’Nai (Vincent) Kessinger, stepsons, Mar Goldstone of Georgia, and Marshall Christian (Sharleen) of Stafford, VA and a host of brother and sister-in-laws and their families and tons of good friends.

Owen finished his education at Georgetown University in Washington, DC in 1980 as an international student receiving a bachelors degree in Labor Relations, and continued his work career in the US Government working in the USA and also traveling abroad living in West Africa and Georgetown Guyana at US Embassies with his family. Life was good!

A memorial service date will be decided at a later date with close family and friends at Found and Sons funeral home in Fredericksburg, VA.
