Life story
" L. Jill Gillispie Greene 64, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2024 after a long illness, she passed away peacefully at home. Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. Gillispie and Judith C. Robertson.
She is survived by her children, Danielle Richards (Nathan) and Michael Brosch. Her grandchildren Delaney Richards, Tanner Richards, Paul Brosch and Brittany Brosch and her siblings, Andrea Gillispie (Janet), Kim Aylor (Wade), Tom Gillispie (Nancy), Joe Parker, Jennifer Barrett (Tim), Tiffany Robertson and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jill was born in Beckley, West Virginia but raised in Virginia. She spent many happy summers with her dad and large extended family in West Virginia.
Jill was a wonderful person and found happiness and joy in any situation. She was an avid fisherwoman, many days you could find her on the banks of the Rappahannock River. She loved to fly kites, swim, crafting, playing the harmonica and singing, but nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She coined herself “Jill of All Trades” doing such jobs as a house painter, photographer, a nanny, dishwasher and waitress.
If you were lucky enough to call Jill your friend, you had a friend for life. She was extremely caring, compassionate and loyal.
Jill was a kid at heart and would play for hours with her grandchildren. She loved to buy herself new toys. She would always say “Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.”
She will be forever missed, but we will meet again in Heaven.
