"Monica Elaine, whose sharp intellect and warm heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her, passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 48. Born on February 24, 1975, Monica grew up to be a beacon of academic excellence, graduating with high honors from Fenway High School. Her passion for justice and advocacy led her to pursue and attain a degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University, where she honed her skills to fight for what was right.

Monica was a loving and devoted mother to her adored son, Elijah Watts, who at 12 years old, reflects the brightness of her spirit. She navigated motherhood with grace and strength, always placing Elijah's well-being at the forefront. Although she and Christopher Watts, Elijah's father, were no longer together, they shared a commitment to amicable co-parenting that was rooted in deep mutual respect and a shared love for their son.

The Elaine family matriarch, Joselyn, was Monica's guiding light, and their bond was a testament to unconditional love. Monica was a cherished sister to Christina, Angela, and Ashley Elaine, and their shared memories are filled with laughter, support, and the kind of candid conversations that can only be had with siblings.
