Edward “Gary” Jordan, age, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away peacefully in his home 14 Dec 2023.
Gary was born November 16, 1940 in Vancouver BC living in various cities in Canada, Europe, and the US throughout his life. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy traveling the world from 1959-1966. He spoke often and fondly of his time in the service.

Gary was also an avid sailor as a civilian embracing the boat life everywhere he and his wife Joyce lived. Gary had a very successful career in computer technology and retired as a Vice President of Unisys Federal Systems Division. During his career, Gary mentored a number of jr technicians, always willing to guide and offer a new perspective as well as being a brilliant problem solver. Gary looked at problems from both the big picture and smallest details that led to the resolution of difficult technical and logistical client issues.

He was active in his local community government, volunteered for numerous needs in his local area which included senior food delivery, donations for under privileged, construction projects at his grandchildren's high school, and many other activities.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents John Edward Niven Jordan and Dorthea Marie Lerbs Jordan.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Jordan; sons Colin Michael (Renee') Jordan of KY; Christopher Anthony (Kristene) Jordan of VA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren ; brothers Jon (Sue) Jordan and Bruce “Chidakash” Jordan of British Columbia, Canada; and several nieces and nephews .

Honors Service will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery Annex December 27, 2023 at 12pm.
