Life story

"Tracey Lee Hughes, 64, of Fredericksburg passed from this life on November 10, 2023 at Mary Washington Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 17, 1959 to William L. Hughes and Patricia J. Walsh in Xenia, Ohio.

Tracey had a passion for physical fitness and used that passion as a physical trainer for many years. However, her most treasured talent was the crafting of personal letters and pictures for her friends and family. Tracey loved to be an encouragement to others and found joy in writing letters to her many friends and family. Over the many years she was sick, she would give God the glory for her perseverance through the trials He put in her path. She was truly a testimony to those around her and especially her children.

Tracey was an incredibly loving and supportive mother and stepmother to her children. She had such a playful and infectious laugh that could light up anyone’s day. She will be remembered as a woman who, in her final days, never faltered in her faith that God is good and that He works everything together for the good of those who love Him.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandi McAleese; her son, Matthew McAleese; her sister Laurie Barnett; her mother, Patricia Walsh.
