Life story

" Terry Keith Bailey, known to his loved ones as Pawpaw, humbly departed from this earthly realm on November 11, 2023, in Bowling Green, VA. Born on May 8, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia. Terry's journey was characterized by a profound appreciation for the wonders of creation and a deep respect for all living beings. His life was a testament to the values of humility, gratitude, and kindness.

He started every day on his front porch with a cup of coffee, taking in the beauty of the world around him. His appreciation for God’s creation began in the Appalachian Mountains. A place where he and his brothers would roam the mountain tops looking for the most scenic views.

He had a special knack for adorning all his surroundings with radiant lights during Christmas, bringing joy and cheer to those around him. Truly a magical Christmas experience for his grandchildren and neighbors.

Terry was a diehard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and enjoyed watching their games. He followed Nascar drivers Bill Elliott and Kevin Harvick, attending any race he could. Yet, amidst his passions, he remained ever humble, never seeking the spotlight but instead finding contentment in the simple pleasures of life.

Terry's soul resonated with the harmonies of music, and he delighted in strumming his guitar and lifting his voice in song. Terry had a passion for music and could often be found picking his guitar and singing. Through his musical talents, he found solace and inspiration, sharing the beauty of melodies with those fortunate enough to hear.

Terry's spirit was grounded in compassion and empathy, for he never encountered a stranger, treating all he met with genuine care and kindness. His radiant soul reflected the light of love, illuminating the lives of those fortunate enough to cross his path.

Terry is survived by: his beloved wife, Barbara Bailey, his stepdaughters Cyndi (Rick), Sandra (Rodney) and stepson Michael (Michelle), his brothers Jesse (Mary) and Jack (Shirley), his granddaughters Kaitlin (Brian), and Renae (Aaron) who made him laugh and cooked thanksgiving dinner in July. Several grandchildren, a plethora of great grandchildren, and his longtime caregivers Teresa and Erik . Terry was preceded in death by his grandson Aaron, his mother Naomi Adkins, and his father Jackson Bailey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18, at 1:00 pm at Hopewell United Methodist Church, located at 12018 Guinea Drive, Woodford, VA 22580. This sacred gathering will serve as a testament to Terry's profound impact on the lives of those he touched. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Found and Sons, located in Fredericksburg, VA.
