Life story

" Surrounded by her loving family, Nancy Ann Seemann was welcomed home into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She now walks the streets of gold, adorned with a crown of many jewels, hearing the words, ‘Well done. My good and faithful servant.’

Born on December 29, 1956, to Frankie and Doris Herrmann in Flagler, Colorado, Nancy moved with her family to Kansas in 1967, where she grew up. Her fondest childhood memories were made with her siblings in Colorado. Over the years, she continued to visit Colorado with her sisters reminiscing about those cherished times.

As a single mom, she raised her children -Randy, Spencer, and Melissa- while pursuing her education, ultimately earning a Master's in Social Psychology from Kansas University. Nancy began her career as a Social Worker, evolving into a gifted licensed clinical therapist, with a career spanning over 20 years and across three states. She finished her career in Pratt, Kansas at Horizon’s Mental Health Center. Her dedication extended beyond the confines of work– she poured out her cup on a daily basis to all those she met whether that be her family, her patients, or complete strangers. She saw the very best in everyone and never considered anyone a lost cause.

Her love for her family was fierce and unwavering, instilling immeasurable values of love, kindness, and generosity. Her influence and guidance continue to have everlasting and eternal effects on the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The legacy she created will endure in the hearts and lives of all who knew her. People were drawn to her as she embodied every aspect of her well-deserved nickname, “Sunshine.” She was full of light, hope, love, and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Arnold Herman and Jan Afton.

Nancy is survived by her children, Randy (Andrea) Seemann of Dublin, Texas, Spencer (Ashley) Seemann of Fort Worth, and Melissa Seemann of Dodge City, Kansas. She leaves behind twelve dearly loved grandchildren Hunter, Autumn, Callie, Ella, Logan, Zack, Jayden, Daedrionna (Edgar) Garcia, Nastasia, Alexa, Veronica, and Nevaeh as well as two great-grandsons, Adrian and Emiliano, and one soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Liliana. She also leaves behind a very cherished sister, Carol Herman, three nephews, Tony (Christie) Herman, James Veverka, Quentin Herman, and one niece, Valerie (Bryan) Halsey as well as many great nephews and nieces.
