Life story

" Margaret 'Maggie' Virginia Edwards, age 61, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born on October 23, 1961 in Alexandria, VA to Ozwin Wilson Wood Jr. and Carolyn Melba Kelly. She was a long-time resident of Fredericksburg, VA and was a 1981 graduate of Colonial Beach High School. She worked many years at a national insurance company as a Salvage Department Advisor before moving on to the field Optometry, where she took great pleasure in assisting patients with their vision issues and seeing them through the many processes and procedures from beginning to end. Maggie was outgoing, big-hearted, and enjoyed visiting family and friends. She had a natural ability to make people smile and laugh, and loved taking care of her cat Monte and her dog Blues.

Maggie is survived by her brothers Richard Alan Wood and Christopher Lee Kelly, her sister Lora Wood Kimbrough, her aunts Dixie Carlson and Martha Padgett, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
