Life story

" Desiree Lynn Foxx, born August 5, 1998, was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It was on Thursday, October 5, 2023, that her journey in her earthly body ended and she was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her grandfather, Roy Johnson, Grandmother Linda Houchens, and Uncle Joseph Johnson.



Desiree’s memory will live on in her parents Nicole & Gregory Smith; her children Legacy Jackson and Siona Foxx, her 2 sisters Tapanga Smith and Serenity Smith; her 2 brothers DJ Foxx and Joseph Foxx; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.



Desiree attended school in Spotsylvania County and was baptized on October 5, 2013, at LifePoint Church. She will forever be remembered for her smile. Desiree was a warm, kind, generous, loving soul with a tough, fierce exterior. She had the desire to ensure that those around her were being lifted up, be it by giving them her last dollar, or sharing one of her beautiful art pieces with them or impressing them with her beautiful singing voice. Desiree was a warrior and fought an internal battle that was epic and intense. There were beautiful times, low times, times of joy and laughter, and times of struggle because she, like many others, was human and as such lived in a constant state of flux. Desiree was the sunshine in her parent’s life and although she has departed us earlier than we would have liked she has left us a part of her sunshine in her precious little girls who will now be raised by their grandparents and will surely know of their mother’s love.



The family has decided to hold a private celebration of life for Desiree. This intimate gathering will serve as a time for her loved ones to share stories, reminisce, and find solace in each other’s company.
