Life story

"Marvin V. Fanton, 68, of King George Va, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023.

Born September 11, 1955 to Victor A. Fanton and Madeline M. (Harvey) Fanton. Marvin lived most of his life in Erin NY, with his three sisters, Connie, Shirley, and Cathy, and his half siblings, Billy, Larry, and Mary. He also had two other half siblings, Vicki and Marty who lived with their mother Betty.

In Marvin’s early twenties, he found himself moving from New York to Texas. While in Texas, he met Teresa Jean McKenzie and were married in May of 1980. Shortly after, their son James was born in September 1980 and their son Anthony came in December of 1981.

Marvin loved to hunt, fish, work on cars, and make unique crafts out of wood. He was a jack of all trades. He was clever and full of knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: mechanic, construction worker, contractor, and supervisor. Marvin could fix or build anything.

Marvin was predeceased by father Victor Adelbert Fanton, who died November 9, 1974, mother Madeline May (Harvey) Fanton, who died September 14, 1979, wife Teresa Jean (McKenzie) Fanton, who died August 9, 2022, son Anthony Scott Fanton, who died October 2, 2021, and half sister Mary (Fanton) Granger, who died October 3, 2008.

He is survived by one son, three sisters, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. They include, son James Fanton (Bobbi), sisters, Connie (Fanton) Savon (Sam), Shirley Fanton (Kenny Forstmann), Cathy (Fanton) Causby (Garry), grandchildren, Owen Fanton, Julie Fanton, Ethan Fanton, Brandon Fanton, Sean Fanton, Ryleigh Fanton, Brooklyn Fanton, and great grandchildren, Maverick Fanton, and Jaxson Fanton."
