Life story

" Our beloved wife, mother, sister Marie Williams of Stafford, VA passed away September 11, 2023 surrounded by her husband and children.

Marie was a wonderful wife to Jerry Williams, mother to Shannon Synclare and Shawn Olson, stepmother to Jerry Williams Jr, and grandmother to 9 beautiful children.

She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Baby, Janie Cooksey and Sara Major.

Born in Alexandria, VA, she graduated from Mount Vernon High School and then had a distinguished career as a civilian Federal executive with the DOD. She worked for the Navy and then finished her career with the Marine Corps.

Marie was a lively woman who loved her family and always enjoyed a good joke.

She loved gardening, especially tending to her lilies and iris, home renovation projects and her Corvette.

Marie jumped into retirement from the Federal Government after 36 years of service and then focused on her home life, hobbies and grandchildren.

She could often be found hauling heavy bags of mulch entirely too big for her, bouncing around on her riding mower and teaching squirrels that her garden is no place for leisure.

Marie happily spent her free time getting her nails done, eating seafood, watching true crime shows and showing off the jewelry bought for her by her loving husband.

An adoring wife, sister, mother and grandmother, she spent countless hours with her grandchildren, watching them ride four wheelers, dirt bikes, spoiling them and giving them endless treats.

Marie will be greatly missed by her family. A celebration of life will be held at her home.
