Life story

" John Anthony Chrepta was born in Watervliet NY on October 7th 1949, and passed peacefully with family by his side on March 4th, 2023, in Fredericksburg Va.

John's parents relocated to Farmingdale NJ, and eventually settled in Neptune NJ in 1955 where John served as the first Altar Server at Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church, Neptune NJ, as well as an active member of the Boy Scouts.

John graduated in 1968 from St. Basil's Prepatory High School and College in Stamford CT, and eventually enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1970 where he served as an Air Traffic controller in Langley Air Force Base VA and South Korea. John received his honorable discharge in 1974 as a Master Sergeant. John's career, thereafter, included Executive Materials Management for various technology companies in New Jersey before relocating to Virginia. John retired from the Department of the Treasury - US Mint, Washington DC in 2015 thereafter he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and watching 1950's westerns. He had a great love for Sunday dinners and family time.

John is predeceased by his parents Metro Chrepta and Eugenia Paslowski-Chrepta, his wife Sharon Devlin-Chrepta, and his brother Darien. He is survived by his five children: James, Christina, Michael, Joanna, and Nicholas, eight grandchildren, as well as four brothers and one sister. John's celebration of life was celebrated at Saint Mary of The Immaculate Conception Church in Fredericksburg VA and is interned in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains NJ. "
