Life story

" Jonathan Paul Lockerman, of Jacksonville Florida, passed on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the age of 73 after a long battle with Lewy body dementia. Born in 1949 on December 5th, to Paul and Lydia Lockerman. During his life, he graduated from Terry Parker High School class of 1968. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the Navy during Vietnam where he served as a medical Corpsman. Upon being honorably discharged, he went on to become a Licensed Optician and work at Mayfair Opticians, the Lockerman family business.
Jon had many hobbies throughout his life. He loved to canoe and surf as a young man. He founded and was the president of the North Florida Koi Club, spending much of his time raising Koi. Additionally, he was an avid member of the Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society.
Jonathan is survived by by his wife of 18 years, Linda O'Steen Lockerman; his two children: Allecia Sue Norton(husband Mark) and Jonathan Paul Lockerman(wife Jenny) and their Mother Deborah Adams Lockerman; Stepson Joey Leith; Grandchildren: Marcus Norton V, Madison Norton, Devin Hobbs, Lilly Lockerman, Lance Lockerman, Gabriel Lockerman and Lindsey Leith; Siblings: David (Debbie) Lockerman, Teena Strickland(fiancée Kerry)and Daniel (Elaine) Lockerman, amongst many other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 at Harmony Community Church,
