Life story

"Elizabeth "Beth" Lee (Hammel) was born Nov. 5th, 1960 and died April 27th, 2023. She passed peacefully in her home in the company of her two children.

Beth was selfless in all things and graciously helped her family and community. She was a kind person who always seemed to know exactly what to say to make your day better and put a smile on your face. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Beth loved spending time with her family and friends more than anything, and we are grateful that she was able to spend so much time with them during her final days while in hospice care. She was a steadfast believer in Christ throughout her life and was involved in each church community she was a part of. Beth was active in the animal rescue community and helped any and all animals whenever possible. She was also very involved in many online reading communities, and shared her love for books with anyone willing to listen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to SFC Virginia Animal Rescue, New Life in Christ Church, or any Ovarian Cancer charities."

"I was lucky to have crossed paths twice in my life with Beth. Once when we were young and again, 32 years later. The latter crossing was but a brief year out of all the rest but it was a year filled with joy , anticipation and excitement. I count myself blessed to have had the experience of knowing Beth and her family. My prayers go with all of you to have the strength she had to move forward in her absence. Always”
