Life story

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Billy Woodson, 78, of Ligum Virginia. He was called home Friday February 24, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.

Billy was born on October 3, 1944 in Charlottesville Virginia, to parents William Henry Woodson Sr. and Loray Anna Shifflett.

Billy was a hardworking man with great love for his family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, and uncle. He was very loved by everyone who knew him. In 1991, he proudly started his own business, WHW Trucking, with the love of his life, his wife, Carion. During his lifetime he had many proud accomplishments before retiring in 2009. Billy loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his animals. He had many hobbies including building race cars and drag racing. Billy will be very missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carion Lee Woodson; three sisters, Carolyn Salem, Connie Kisamore, and Donna Woodson; Daughter, Graceie Bell; seven sons, William Hickey, Robert Woodson, Joseph Woodson, Donald Woodson, Jesse Woodson, Nicholas Woodson, Douglas Woodson; Grandchildren, Waylon, Ryan, and Lillian as well as other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by, his Father, William Henry Woodson Sr., his mother, Loray Anna Shifflett, his two brothers Alfred Woodson, Roger Woodson, and his sister, Judy Beaty."
