Life story
" We are devastated to announce the unexpected and tragic passing of Daximus Anthony Cruz, age 10, on the morning of December 28, 2022.
Daximus was born December 10, 2012. He would always introduce himself as Daximus even though everyone close to him just called him Dax. He would normally let you know if and when he would tolerate you calling him Dax.
Daximus will be severely missed by his parents, Davyn and Ashley, siblings, Damon, Amorah, Diezel, and Davyn Jr., Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and too many cousins to count.
Daximus was always the sentimental, considerate, and sensitive one of the family but also loved to have a good laugh and make a ton of jokes along the way. He was such an active, creative, and adventurous boy. He had his way of making everyone feel loved and seen in special ways, always wanting to put others’ feelings before his own. He loved to write notes and leave them around the house for his mom and dad to read, usually about how much he loved them. He had a love for sports, skateboarding, biking, quadding, and riding his dirt bike. He was always up for an adventure. Any chance he had, he would be out with his Tata camping, fishing, or rooting for the Cowboys. He was his Tata’s side kick and always planned on moving out to be able to take care of him when he was old enough.
He loved to be up at the crack of dawn but couldn’t hang too late into the nights. His mornings always consisted of his alone time to watch his cartoons without his siblings, planning his meals for the day, and waking everyone else up in the house once he felt it was getting late.
Dax was the best brother. He did what most bigger brothers do and had a different relationship with each of his siblings. You could always find him either picking on Damon or being his best friend. Everything was always some type of competition. He had a special love for his sister, wanting to protect her and support her in everything she did. If she wanted to dance, he was right there to spin her around. With Diezel, he wanted to help him learn, play, and eat anytime of the day. With Davyn Jr., he was always playing the blame game. You would always hear from him, “Davyn did it!” just to try and get out of anything he could.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Sonny’s Old Town Venue at 100 W. Western Ave. Goodyear, AZ 85338. The viewing will be from 2-3 pm, service from 3-4 pm, and a short gathering from 4-6 pm.
Flowers are welcome to be sent to the venue and other contributions can be made to the family directly.
Daximus’ life was cut short, but the impression left on others will never be forgotten. Dax will be missed more than words could describe by everyone that knew him. "
