Life story

"Liger William “Bill” Staton, 87, of Mineral, VA passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1935 in Amherst, VA to the late Ernest Smiley and Syra Lou Staton.
Liger "Bill" Staton was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family. In his later years he could often be found visiting family and friends. He loved everyone and truly never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him, and especially by his devoted family.
Bill is survived by his children, Connie Kendrick of Madison Heights, VA, Sarah Mays of Mineral, VA, Stephanie Ricchiuto and her husband, Antonio of Mineral, VA, and Donald Barton Staton and his wife, Donna of Rixeyville, VA; grandchildren, Ashby Routt and Daniel Mays both of Mineral VA, Elizabeth Staton, Noah Staton, Zachary Staton, and Grace Staton all of Rixeyville, VA Heather Saunders Erb and Benny Saunders both of Madison Heights, VA, Kathy Mays, Kevin Mays both of Fairfax, VA, Susan Mack and husband, Brandon of Culpeper, VA; great grandchildren, Braylon Routt, Jacoby Mack, Nixon Mack, Ace Mack, Reese Mack, Kayden Mack, and Marcey Saunders; and sister, Orphie Parr of Amherst, VA
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Alice Staton; and brothers, Robert Staton, Charles Dudley Staton, and Ernest Staton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Alum Spring Baptist Church, 11058 Dutch Hollow Road, Culpeper, VA 22701.
