Life story

"Bruce was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1948. He and his family moved to Inver Grove Heights twelve years later. Bruce graduated from Simley High School in 1966. Beginning in his senior year, he worked for the Rock Island Line Railroad, following a generational family tradition. Bruce attended Minnesota State for his Undergrad and went on to receive his Masters in Physical Therapy.
Bruce served the Nation with 22 years in the Military serving in both the Air Force and the Army in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He retired from military service as a Lieutenant Colonel. Professionally Bruce was a Physical Therapist in both the military and private practice. He worked directly in Orthopedics and later in Geriatric medical services.
Bruce was blessed with five children- Erin (Tony) Ewald, Rebecca Mastel, Kelly Hale, David (Alisha) Chapman, and Reilly (Evan) McBeath; as well as eight grandchildren- Scarlett Hale, Sienna Hale, Ella McBeath, Zoey Ewald, Abigail McBeath, Cassidy Chapman, Owen McBeath, and Emelia Chapman.
He was married to the love of his life, Tess. They shared hobbies of travel, golf and reading. Bruce recalls his favorite thing to do was sitting with Tess and sipping coffee in the morning while talking about life and all its aspects.
As he lived each day, Bruce was blessed to see God’s promise in Christ in the eyes of family and friends. It is that faith in Christ that grew and sustained Bruce in this life to eternity. In life he prayed that his loved ones would experience that same deep and abiding faith in Christ as Savior for each of them onto eternity.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to: Wounded Warriors or Redeemer Lutheran Church."
