Life story
"The perfect words to describe Nick are that he was a gentle giant. At 6' 6", 230lbs, Nick was one of the most kind, loving, and caring people you could ever meet. Born in Oak Lawn IL, he lived in Lansing Illinois during his childhood years, and in his late teenage years moved between Northwest Indiana and Chicago, eventually taking residence in NWI to be close to his family. Nick not only cared deeply for the people that were close to him, which a lot were, he cared for many people even those who he didnt know as well or as long. He had a tremendous love for animals, especially cats. For some reason, animals and children just gravitated towards him. They must have sensed his goofiness and good nature, which is why he was so close to his 2 nieces and 1 nephew. You always knew when Nick was around because it was louder in the room and people were smiling. Something about his smile was infectious to all. Nick wasn't without faults though; he was a stubborn child growing up, and that stubbornness carried into his adult life. During the winter months when it was cold outside, his mother would have to chase him down the block to make sure he didn't take his coat off when he turned the corner on the walk to school. For some reason he thought wearing the coat made him not as tough. Even as a grown man you would still find him outside in 40-degree weather wearing shorts. When he passed, he was working at Task Force Tips in Valparaiso, where he made a large impact in such a small amount of time. He loved his job and his co-workers loved him. Although Nicholas was taken from this earth so early, it's undeniable he made a lasting impression while he was here."
