Life story

"Helen Campbell Williams, 83, of Valdese departed this life to her heavenly home on Wednesday May 4, 2022 at her residence following a period of declining health. Helen was born on September 16, 1938 in Burke County to the late Carl Campbell and Geneva Deal Campbell. She was a retired decorator with Drexel Heritage Furniture and was a member of First Baptist Church in Valdese. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sherrill Williams; a daughter, Donna Lynn Williams; and a grandson, Christopher Williams; and a sister Loretta Pyatte and husband Lon; three nephews, Christopher Campbell, Chance Campbell and Dale Pyatte. Survivors include her daughter, April Waddell and husband Jerry of Nebo; her son, Ray Butch Williams of Valdese; her grandchildren, Alex Shuffler, Mattie Waddell and Spencer Williams; step grandchild, Emily Laing; step great grandson, Bentley Laing; her brothers, Robert Campbell and wife Barbara and Jerry Campbell and wife Brenda; also surviving are six nieces and two nephews. Also surviving are her special friends, Jan Garrou, Dot Coulter, Joann Bollinger and Brenda West. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday May 7, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Valdese, with Rev. Dr. Josh Lail officiating.
