Life story

"Bonnie J. Reed, age 81, of Rock Falls, died Monday, April 18, 2022 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling. She was born to Homer M. and Margaret K. (Royer) Weeks in Sterling, Illinois. She married Donald L. Reed on September 19, 1964. He died in 2012. She was a graduate of Sterling High School and worked at Big Lots and Walmart. Bonnie enjoyed her granddaughters, being Grandma to many of their friends, driving around in her 1956 Ford Convertible, Saturday night Canasta with her mother and sisters, Betty and Pat. Saturday nights out and playing the slots, country music, travelling across the country with family and to see family and bringing back the ugliest momentos she could find. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Don; her brothers Eugene and Don Weeks; sister Betty White; and her adored dogs, Muggsie, JoJo, and Poco. She is survived by her children: Daughters, Dawn Reed and Kristi Reed. Granddaughters, Rileigh and Kaitlyn. Sisters, Patsy (George) Yochum, and Mary (Earl) Williams, and brother Jim (Susan) Weeks. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A graveside service will follow at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling at 11:30 AM.
