Life story

"John Robert Dinardo, 81, of Brigantine, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Friday February 11, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Paterson, NJ he was the devoted son of the late John D. and Marion (Arnott) Dinardo. He was the loving husband of the late Frances A. Donahue. John was a graduate of Fair Lawn Senior High School in Fair Lawn, NJ class of 1958. From there John went on to the Pennsylvania Military College in Chester, PA and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelors in Pre-Law, education and Business. John then attended St. Johns Law School in Brooklyn, NY for three years before embarking on a lifelong career in the military by joining the U.S Army. John faithfully served his country in the Army attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He then continued his military career by joining the U.S. Army Reserves reaching the rank of Captain and eventually Colonel. John was on the promotion list for General but unfortunately military cuts prevented his eventual promotion. After retiring from the military in 1992, as a senior military officer, John worked as a realty broker in northern New Jersey for many years until moving to Brigantine in 2011. Upon relocating to Brigantine, John started to work for Weichert Realtors. John was a Broker-of Record and was a licensed New Jersey Real Estate instructor for the Weichert Real Estate School. John held the title of Master Teacher and literally helped to write the book of the Weichert School. John also held designations as an Accredited Buyers representative and Senior Real Estate Specialist. John loved to bowl in his earlier years and had many trophies to prove his talent in the sport. He also enjoyed coin collecting and collecting toy cars. John was a member of the American Legion in Brigantine and the Elks Lodge in Brigantine. He was also a member of the New Jersey Association of Realtors. John embodied the positive virtues of Intelligence, dependability, Generosity, humor, caring and just having a big heart. John will be missed and fondly remembered by his brother; Gary (Katsuko) Dinardo, nieces; Mary Jane Dinardo, Linda (Jim) Vannortwick, Carol Dinardo, nephews; John Dinardo, Michael Dinardo, Michael Donahue, Alec Donahue, brother-in-law; Christopher Donahue, sister-in-law Lisa Donahue and his pet dog Daphne. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his daughter; Alisa Dinardo and son; Jonathan Dinardo. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John\'s Life Celebration Funeral on Friday February 18, 2022 at 11:00am at Keates-Plum Funeral Home, 3112 Brigantine Ave. Brigantine, NJ 08203. A viewing will be held at Keates-Plum on Thursday February 17, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm and on Friday from 10:00am until time of service.
