Life story

"John Travis Wise, 45,of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence following a period of declining health. Travis was born March 16, 1976, in Catawba County to the John Samuel Wise and the late Shirley Wyatt Kilgore. Travis was member of Victory Above Only Ministries and owner of Wise Tree Service. He was a witty, loving, and caring husband and father. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his sister, Jolene. In addition to his father and step-mother, Cindy Wise, he is survived by his wife of twenty five years, Leslie Robinson Wise; children, Isaac Wise, Austin Wise and fiancé Nic Rector, Brock Wise, and Amera Wise; siblings, Steve Wise, Steve Newton, Chris Newton, Taryn Wray, Shawn Wise, and Adam Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are father and mother-in-law, David and Lisa Robinson; and brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Jennifer Robinson. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Victory Above Only Ministries with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the church.
