Life story

"Mrs. Rachel Lowman Wycoff, 84, of Connelly Springs, passed away at home on Friday, August 27, 2021, after a brief illness. Mrs. Wycoff was born February 22, 1937, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Bailey Lowman. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, and had a caring and generous heart, taking care of numerous loved ones and members of the community. Rachel was the face and backbone of Robey\'s Fabrics for over 50 years. She enjoyed her weekly outings with her sister-in-law Brenda to get her hair done by Melissa and visit Tex\'s Fish Camp for hushpuppies! She looked forward to visits from family,friends, and especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robey Wycoff, daughter, Sharon Wycoff, and brother, Clifford Dozey Lowman. Surviving are her two sons, BobbyWycoff and wife, Tonya, of Connelly Springs, and Jamey Wycoff and wife, Lora of ConnellySprings. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Mackensie Wycoff and fiancé, Henry McKinney,Justin Reid and fiancé, Payton Setzer, Julia Wycoff and fiancé, Garret Coble, Grace Wycoff andRobey Wycoff; sister-in-law\'s Brenda Lowman, Elsie Townsend, Mildred Reed, and MargaretYoung; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Rachel Lowman Wycoff will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday August 29, 2021 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Connelly Springs with Rev. Mike Lowman officiating. A private interment will be Monday at Burke Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 2 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Amorem (Burke) Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690.
