Life story

"Donna Rae Skiles, age 77, of Holland, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Holland Hospital. Donna owned and operated Skiles Tavern in Holland and was a former President of the VFW Women\'s Auxillary. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, David Skiles in 1974. Also preceding her are her parents, Henry and Gertrude Tuls; sister, Virginia Tuls; brother, Richard Tuls; brothers-in-law, Bill Skiles and Chet Skiles; and nephew, Henry J. Tuls. Donna is survived by her daughter, Kim (Rob) Compagner of Zeeland; grandsons, David Compagner and Joe Compagner both of Zeeland; sisters, Nancy Tuls of Holland, Ginger (Doug) Vork of West Olive, and Barbara Tuls of Holland; sisters-in-law, Gloria Tuls of Florida and Pat Skiles of La Crosse, WI; aunt, Janet Tuls of Holland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation is scheduled for 2:00-5:00pm Sunday, March 21 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St. Holland. A public graveside committal service is planned for 11:00 Monday, March 22 at Pilgrim Home Cemetery with Jennifer De Leeuw officiating.
