Life story
"Mrs. Diane McCrea of Spartanburg, South Carolina passed away at home on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 12:29pm at the age of 68. Diane McCrea was born on December 3, 1951 to the late Bonner Oree Casey and Willie Ruth Casey. She was one of five children and the oldest female sibling from Bonner Oree Casey and Willie Ruth Casey. At a young age she relocated to Washington, DC with her family, where she attended DC Public Schools then graduated from Eastern Senior High School located in Northeast, DC. After high school she met her husband, Johnathon Curtis McCrea which they were married in 1970. The union between them blessed them with two children, Monika McCrea, Fabrienne McCrea. Shortly after high school, she entered into the federal government where she became a payroll clerk at the Department of Veteran Affairs where she worked for almost 30 years until she retired in the early 1980's. After her retirement, she always dedicated herself and loved to be around her family especially taking care of her mom and her girls. She was also like a second mother to some who knew her well because she always opened up her home as well as her heart to others that she cared about in her life. Diane was a kindhearted, loving and compassionate person that would give you her last if she saw that you needed something. That was the kind of heart she had towards others. Known as "granny" or 'Dike" to most, she will always be "ma" to us. She always showed her gratitude in serving the Lord by becoming saved and staying in the word. She joined the The Shepherd's House Church of God in her last days as a faithful servant along with her daughter Monika to give Him praise for what He has done for her and her family."
