Life story

"Willie Lee Thompson was born March 28, 1932 to the late Joseph Thompson, Sr. and Mary Graham Thompson, the forth of thirteen children. He was given his heavenly wings and departed this life on May 30, 2020 at his resident.

Willie received his formal education in the public school system in Oberlin, Louisiana.

Willie served in the Armed Forces March 21, 1951 to March 9, 1954, when he was honorably discharged. He was a decorated war hero and received several medals which included the Silver Star.

He met and fell in love with Catherine Captain from Kinder, Louisiana and they were joined in holy matrimony on May 28, 1955.

He moved to Stockton, California in 1965 with his family. He was employed with the Port of Stockton, Libby Owens Ford and Valley Met. He spent the last twenty-six years of his working career as a Wharehouseman for CG Galls and he retired October 1992.

He was a devoted Christian and espoused the teaching of Christ in his everyday life.


He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, caring brother and a good friend to all who knew him. He was well liked and respected.
