Life story

" In Loving Memory of Barbara Jenette Wilkins

Barbara Jenette Wilkins, age 70, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Born on March 14, 1956, Barbara grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where she built a life centered around her faith, family, and the people she loved.

Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She loved her children deeply and treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a caring and nurturing spirit and enjoyed cooking and taking care of those around her.

Barbara also knew how to appreciate the simple things in life. She loved playing spades and other card games, spending time outdoors, and taking walks through Byrd Park in Richmond. She loved nature and the peace she found in it, and her faith remained an important part of her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Wilkins and Barbara Tyree.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Russell Jr. and his companion, Terria; Francine; Shawn; Jerrod; Robert; and Anthony.

She is survived by her brothers, Ronald (Giovanna), Calvin, Ricky, Tyrone and Wayne; and her sister, Anita; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Barbara's life will be remembered through the family she loved, the generations she helped nurture, and the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Rest peacefully, Barbara. Your love lives on through all of us. "
