Life story

" Deanne lived a life defined by a fierce love for her family, a deep devotion to her faith, and an abiding connection to the natural world. From her earliest days, she found pure joy on the dairy farm, happily watching her daddy work and wandering through the woods. Being among the trees and quietly taking in nature wasn’t just a pastime for Deanne—it was where her spirit felt most at home.

That bond with the outdoors shaped much of her early life. As a young woman, she loved nothing more than gathering with good friends, heading out to favorite local swimming holes, and soaking in sunny afternoons together. Her passion for the wild places ran so deep that in her younger days she even worked with the forest department, using her own hands to help cut and build trails through the wilderness so others could experience the beauty she loved so dearly.

As the years went on, that same adventurous heart led her up into the mountains, camping under open skies and riding horses along rugged ridges with her dearest friends. She leaves behind her magnificent horse, Gunner, a steadfast partner on so many unforgettable mountain trails.

Above all, Deanne was devoted to God and strove daily to live a life honoring Jesus Christ and caring for those she held dear. She loved fiercely, lived with intention, and did the very best she could with what she knew, drawing continuous strength from her faith: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13). In her final year, she was blessed with the chance to travel and explore new horizons, an experience she embraced with genuine happiness and wonder.

Following a diagnosis of advanced liver cancer in early June 2026, Deanne spent her final chapter surrounded by the care and love of family. In September 2026, she passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter. She leaves behind a cherished legacy carved into mountain paths, a circle of devoted friends, and a family who will forever carry her loving, wild, and steadfast spirit in their hearts. "
