Life story
" Dr. Amanda Aldridge‑Schamp, Nurse Practitioner, born September 7, 1975, age 50, went home to be with her Lord on September 3, 2026.
Amanda was the beloved wife of Brian, mother of Alex, and “Gigi” to Luc and Ayva. She was loved by her mother Sara, her father and step-mother Harry and Mary, her siblings Robert, Graham, Stuart and Vivian, and a wide circle of extended family.
Amanda was an active member of Oakland Baptist Church, where she helped lead a small group and participated in women’s Bible studies. Her faith was the foundation of her life and shone especially brightly during her battles with cancer. She lived the truth of Jesus’s words: “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Mt. 17:20b.
A dedicated nurse practitioner, Amanda earned her Ph.D. in Nursing Practice in 2022 and recently fulfilled her dream of opening her own practice; Altamont Family Health & Integrative Medicine. Although her practice was small, it filled a need in her community. Her patients often said they felt truly seen and cared for — a reflection of the compassion that defined every part of her life.
Those who knew Amanda will remember her as a woman of great faith, quiet strength, and boundless compassion. She touched countless lives through her service, her friendship, and her calling to care for others. Her legacy lives on in her family, her patients, her church community and all who were blessed to know her.
Amanda will be profoundly missed and forever cherished. Her life was a gift and her legacy of faith and love will continue to shine for years to come.
