" John Wendell Johnson passed away on July 21, 2026 at 83 years old. Born in Boston, MA to the late John and Jean Johnson, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Husband for 49 years to Marcia (Irving) Johnson, Stepfather to Richard Stewart and Deborah (Stewart) Plante (Mark) and Father to John Johnson Jr, Amy (Johnson) Bibby (Scott), Jason Johnson, Michael Johnson (Julia), Matthew Johnson (Melissa), Andrew Johnson and Emily Johnson. Grandfather to 16 and Great Grandfather to 8. John worked for Amtrak in Boston, MA for 30 years. During his retirement he poured his passion and talent into building hot rods. John loved his dogs, cars and garage and TV after 1984, liked his wife and tolerated his children. In lieu of flowers his family asks that you tighten that loose bolt you have been ignoring, spend some time in the garage or go pet a good dog.
A celebration of life will take place in September. "
