Life story

" Erick was born in 1984 and we lived in Arlington Virginia. He then moved with his family to Jeffersonton at age 3. He graduated from Culpeper County High School and attended Radford. He was a talented finisher for fine interior woodworking, which he developed working with his dad. He was also quite the artist.

He is survived by his mother Bonnie Gookin, his daughter Peyton Gookin and his brother Chris Gookin, wife Heather and their two children. In addition to being survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece and nephew, he is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Mimi. He was preceded in death by his father Rick, G-Daddy and Grandma Shirley. He loved his family and friends, especially his daughter Peyton.

Erick is in God's hands now. May he rest forever in peace. "
