" An only child Leila Roker was born to Lisa and John Roker, Leila was born and raised in Harlem, NY. A God fearing woman, Leila served St Luke's AME church for 25 years as an usher. Leila was an active member of her community, in which she provided child care to numerous families n her community.

In 1967, Leila gave birth to her son Thomas S. Lucas. As a single parent, Leila made sure her son obtained the best education and never missed his basketball games or any special events.

Leila was loved and adored by everyone she encountered. Leila was known for her great cooking and her loving and caring ways. Leila leaves behind her only beloved son Thomas S. Lucas and her two grandson's Corey Lucas and Thomas Lucas III. "
