Life story
" Elsa Lenhart, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 94.
Born on December 18, 1931, Elsa lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Lenhart, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership.
Elsa leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry her memory forward. She is survived by her seven children: Jerry Lenhart (Mary Lou), Carolyn Rice, Scott Lenhart (Mary), Betsy Cooksey (Roger), Lisa Guild (Curtis), Andrea Brown (Kevin), and Eric Lenhart (Betsy). She was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 30 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
A nurse for many years, Elsa dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. Her compassion extended far beyond her work—she was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, supported, and loved. Her strong Catholic faith guided her life and gave her strength, shaping the way she treated others with kindness, patience, and grace.
Elsa had a deep love for life’s simple joys. She enjoyed traveling and creating memories along the way, always appreciating time spent with those she loved most. In her quieter moments, she could often be found playing card games and dominos, where her competitive spirit shone through. A fierce competitor, she played to win, but always with a sense of humor that brought laughter and smiles to everyone around her.
Elsa will be remembered for her warm heart, lively spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a gift for bringing people together, and her legacy lives on in the lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a contribution to your favorite charity in Elsa's memory.
